BIO:

Minister Wanda S. Poteat was born on December 12, 1959 in Ringgold, Virginia. She is married to John E. Poteat and resides in Yanceyville, North Carolina. She has one daughter, Keisha N. Cosby who resides in Columbia, MD; one stepson Jerrold Poteat resides in Charlotte, NC; and one granddaughter Kamari S. Cosby-Pritchett.

Minister Poteat is the youngest of three children born to the late Mable H. Saunders and Deacon Verman E. Saunders, Sr. Her father later remarried to her stepmother, Louise Rone Saunders. Her sister, Minister Eyvonne S. Richardson (Fred) lives in Reidsville, North Carolina and her brother, Verman E. Saunders, Jr. (Sallie) lives in Danville, Virginia.

Starting at the age of six on her christian journey, she became a member of Bethel Baptist Church.  She was active in Sunday School as well as a vigorous member of several choirs and the Usher Auxillary.

Minister Poteat's parents had separate memberships to places of worship; which has brought forth a combination of ways to praise the Lord.  Therefore, she often attended services with her father at Holy Tabernacle of Jesus Christ church, located on Hwy. 360 in Danville, Virginia.

She later moved her membership to the Mount Carmel Baptist Church were she continued to lift Jesus up in song. As her work ended there, she moved her membership to Vance Street Baptist church and joined the Usher Board.

But still feeling there was some greater purpose than just being a patron member of the church, Minister Poteat prayed for direction and the Lord called her for the third time to preach His Word.

This time instead of ignoring or denying the call of duty, Wanda ran back to Emmanuel Tabernacle Full Gospel Church, 508 North Main St. Danville, Virginia; Mary Doby is the pastor. In May 2005, she became an Associate Minister and continues to preach as well as pray for lost souls.

Minister Poteat's high school alma mater is Bartlett Yancey Senior High, located in Yanceyville, North Carolina.  She is currently attending The Living Epistle Bible College in Danville, Virginia to further her theological intellect as well as her walk in the Ministry.

Wanda is the Manager at Short Sugar’s BBQ in Danville, Virginia.

For she knows in her heart: The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of God shall stand for ever. Isaiah 40:8
