JACQUELINE TORRES, Ph.D. BIO.
Dr. Jacqueline Torres is the President and Senior Consultant for the Firm Foundation, Inc., [FFI] a non-profit organization with a strong dedication and passionate commitment to improving the quality of life of our communities. President and Founder of the Latina Women’s Ministry “Mujer Recibe Tu Unción!” and getting ready to launch the Latino Men's Ministry "Ministros Llamas de Fuego". Dr. Torres has worked in the domestic violence field for the past eight and a half years. Dr. Torres has been awarded various scholarships through the New England School of Prevention Studies and just recently received a Fellow Award from the Connecticut Health Foundation to focus on leadership development, advocate on emerging issues in public health, racial and ethnic health disparities. Dr. Torres has an extensive and diverse background to include Legislative Advocate, Notary Public, Licensed Broadcaster, Federal Grant Reviewer, Voice-Over, Mediator of Family Conflicts, Clinical Pastoral Care Counseling, Theology, Public Relations, Public Policy, Media, Grant writing, Trainer, Educator, Domestic Violence and Prevention Specialist just to mention a few. Dr. Torres is in the process of publishing a book in Spanish entitled “El Abuso Doméstico y la Iglesia” as an educational resource to guide and educate the Latino clergy on the issue of domestic violence and the faith communities. Dr. Torres has traveled widely, taking the balanced message of optimism and joy to the professionals of companies, health providers, clergy, teachers and people that need some inspiration in general. She has also directed seminars, conferences, public forums, mock courts, retreats and workshops at state and national level. |
